International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day is also called ‘Survivors Day’. It unites communities to recall and show respect to the lives of those lost to suicide. Each year, it is marked on the Saturday before American Thanksgiving, falling on the 18th of November this year. It is estimated by the World Health Organization that more than 700,000 individuals say ‘Good Bye’ to the world each year by committing suicide. Besides, many more people try to commit suicide or bear intense suicidal tendencies in their nerves.

Suicides and suicide attempts both become painful for those who have to bear their existence by losing their loved ones and by tolerating their loved ones’ alarming activities. The events, organized to observe Survivors Day, present a well-protected space for individuals to disclose their sorrow and to connect with others who have experienced similar trouble.

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention hosts a platform for people to find an event where survivors of suicide loss Day stand together comfortably.
